Mrs. Edwards holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bradley University, a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa, and a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the Academy of Clinical Social Workers.
Mrs. Edwards has worked in the field of medical social work for over thirty years. Currently she specializes in treating adults with PTSD, particularly those who were abused as children. Another area of specialty is in the field of geriatrics, providing counseling for the individual patient and family members. She has experience in hospital social work, home care social work, nursing home and assisted living social work, and private practice. In addition, she has been both a clinician and a manager. Her experience as a teacher and counselor early in her career provides her with a broad perspective of individual and family dynamics. She has presented seminars and workshops dealing with a variety of topics related to the elderly, in the areas of stress management, grief and loss, and trauma. She has served on various boards in the community.
Mrs. Edwards and her husband attend Grace Presbyterian Church where they are both very active in the music ministry and serve on various boards and committees. They are the parents of Nathan and Paul (deceased) and the grandparents of Emmelia, Eli, Eden, and Evelyn.
