Mr. Bucknam completed a Bachelor of Theology degree from Tyndale College, a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. He has done graduate work at Northern Illinois University. Mr. Bucknam was a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the first state president of the Illinois Association of Marriage and Family Counselors. He is a National Certified Counselor.
With over twenty-five years in the mental health field, Mr. Bucknam has been staff therapist for the doctors of the Primary Care Centers in Grayslake, Gurnee, and Antioch, IL and was an owner and program director for The Arlington Center in Arlington Heights, IL. He is an ordained minister who has worked on staff with churches.
He and his wife have led marital groups and conducted marriage retreats in both the United States and Canada. Through Illinois Central College, Mr. Bucknam led Children First groups for parents in the process of divorce. He oversaw the parent training program for families with strong-willed and defiant children for fifteen years at The Arlington Center. He is past president of CHADD both in Lake County and in Peoria, IL and has spoken to groups on the subject of ADHD in the Chicagoland and Peoria areas.
Mr. Bucknam and his wife Bobbi have three children and attend Northwoods Community Church.
