Dr. Toohill holds a BS degree from Bradley University, as well as MA and Psy.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College and is currently earning a postdoctoral MS in Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois.
Dr. Toohill has experience working in both private practice and inpatient hospital settings, working with individuals across the lifespan providing both therapy and psychological and neuropsychological assessment. She has also worked as a school-based counselor with children and adolescents. Dr. Toohill has experience and interest in serving the mental health needs of rural communities, and is passionate for “helping the helpers”, which has translated into counseling and support with clergy, religious, law enforcement, and first responders. She has also completed and presented research related to infertility counseling and natural family planning. In 2013 she was named a Top Doctor in Illinois by HealthTap, and has received awards for Peoria’s 40 Leaders Under 40 and 25 Women in Leadership, as well as being named one of the Illinois Jaycees’ Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2021.
Dr. Toohill, her husband, Nick, and their children live in the Peoria area and are members at Holy Family Parish.
