Ms. Tyler received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Bradley University, and she is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and a National Certified Counselor. She has published work on play therapy. Ms. Tyler is the vice president of operations for The Antioch Group and the director of The Antioch Group's Child Clinic. She co-founded the Illinois Association for Play Therapy and has served two consecutive terms as president of the association.

Ms. Tyler specializes in counseling children from birth to 18 years of age and their families. She trains other professionals in a variety of child therapy approaches, and has served as a consultant for various agencies. Ms. Tyler also specializes in training and supervising child therapists.

Ms. Tyler and her husband, Ron, have a son, Steven, and a daughter, Elizabeth. They are active members of El Vista Baptist Church of Peoria, where Jonna is a Sunday School teacher and is active in the music ministry.
